In school, I sweat for no reason at all? I'm not hot or anything. I just randomly sweat! What should I do?

I have no idea why I sweat! In school I am just fine. I am having to wear white shirts and they get yellow stains (I know it is so nasty!) and I ruin all of my shirts! Please help me!

Hyperhidrosis aka excessive sweating. Anything can cause this mess. Are u nervous before u start sweating? (I won%26#039;t be surprised if u say %26quot;no but the sweating makes me nervous cos it can be embarrasing%26quot;). You could have over-active sweat glands just like someone has said. Your thyroid may be hyperactive, or it may be your pituitary gland triggering a reaction. Do you feel your heart rate increased while this is going on (without you feeling nervous) Your sympathetic nervous system may be overriding your parasympathetic NS or vice versa.

Check with a doctor of internal medicine. He/She may refer you to a dermatologist (I have no clue why they do this. One explained something having to do with the skin in the armpits and what not. Another explained that the pores may be large that sweat easily passes through. I preferred the second explanation to the first). You may also be referred to an endocrinologist to check your thyroid and other hormones or neurologist to see about your nerves.

Before you see any doc, have u tried stronger anti-perspirants that are OTC. Certain Dri or is it Certain Dry, can be found at WalMart... Use these as directed and with great judgement. If you are not sure, stop and ask questions, okay?

These may leave yellow stains on your shirt from the chemical that%26#039;s contained in the antiperspirant just like others will over time but it is better than having it left there from excessive sweating.

In all, I wish you good luck. It will feel great to be dry for once and wear bright colored shirts. You also save money and not keep having to replace your stained shirts.

Hope this helps some.

Maybe pack a stick of deodorant in your bag..Put some on during breaks or something o.O I know it%26#039;s not the best advice, But that%26#039;s all I can think of %26gt;.%26lt; Hope it gets better!
Reply:You might just have overactive sweat glands. Don%26#039;t worry, many people do. You can get prescription anti-perspirants from your doctor, or get over the counter ones made for heavy sweat.

To clean your shirts: soak them in OxyClean (not an off-brand. The real stuff!). Put OxyClean in the sink, fill the sink with the hottest water safe for the shirts, and mix together (using gloves--this stuff will burn). Soak the shirt in there for a few hours, then machine wash with both detergent and OxyClean. Trust me, it works! I%26#039;ve cleaned pitstains with this myself.

To prevent: wear a short-sleeved, white undershirt under your white shirts. The undershirts will get the pitstains, but no one sees those anyway! :-)
Reply:sounds like anxiety because it only happens in socail situations like school, rather than at home, where you are more comfortable. It is also likely that your thyroid is overactive or your hormones are out of whack. In any case, first see your doctor and get some blood tests so they can accurately diagnose the problem (Also this takes a while, so do it ASAP). Then get some calcium/magenesium vitamins. This will help overall in the sweating but will also be good for development and health, as obviously you are still a young. adult. Then, buy the e-book Stop Sweating and Start Living, by Mike Ramsey. I don%26#039;t mean to be a cheap skate, but you have to pay the guy, since it was his idea, I can%26#039;t just give it away. But truthfully, it should help you a lot, like solve your problem completely a lot. And alos, the guy is really nice and genuine, a real person that will respond to your emails, rather than some big company that will get around to you. If you have any questions or reservations, talk to him, but honestly the book has worked wonders for many people including myself. You won%26#039;t regret it.
Reply:Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had the ETS surgery done, it%26#039;s very expensive.

I had hyperhidrosis (and a few other symptoms) for many years and went through all the usual treatments.

Anticholinergic drugs, applying topical solutions, botox, and ETS surgery. The surgery was most helpful but several

years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

Years later I was diagnosed with celiac disease, along with a few food allergies. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet and stopped all prescriptions. I began taking supplements:

- Vitamin B complex

Contains 50mg of every B vitamin plus Folic Acid

- Mineral complex

Contains Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, etc.

(This is not the cause of hyperhidrosis but caused my food allergies and mineral/vitamin malabsorption)
