Good sweat-proof makeup?

I%26#039;ll be moving to a very humid and HOT climate and I sweat a lot. Do you know of any good sweatproof makeup for face/eyes? Thanks!
Good sweat-proof makeup?
Lucky you :)

Liquid eyeliner would work the best in terms of liners.

Wear an eyeshadow base (I use Rimmel CoolTouch shadow) before applying any eye makeup.

Apply your eyeshadow wet, if possible; it really helps them stay on.

I wore Revlon ColourStay foundation on a trip to Cuba and it worked out nicely, too.
Good sweat-proof makeup?
Thanks everyone! I bought Clinique work-out makeup and it stays on all day through sweat and humidity, it%26#039;s flawless! Report It

Reply:get water proof maskara and eyeliner. I am not sur there is a water proof eye shadow, packgin sais if it is waterproof

I sweat ALOT on my hands and underarms . deoderent does not work?

when im in school, i have HUGEEE sweat marks under my armpits, everyday, all day. and it is really noticeable. how can i fix this problem ? should i see a doctor
I sweat ALOT on my hands and underarms . deoderent does not work?
it%26#039;s natural to your body so don%26#039;t worry. If you try things and still nothing works, just be happy you tried your best
I sweat ALOT on my hands and underarms . deoderent does not work?
loose weight
Reply:1. Are you overweight? 2. What foods do you eat? 3. Are you Nervous all the time. 4. Maybe you feel guilty all the time. It could have to do with anyone of these!
Reply:get thin
Reply:I have the same problem! Let me know if you find solution!
Reply:have u tried speedstick 24/7? its a good one. i use it and i dont sweat all day or if i do...it smells good. hehe
Reply:deoderant does not prevent sweating, its for odor only. there is a medical procedure where doctors can cut a certain nerve that controls sweating in specific places.
Reply:Please what ever you do do not use any product with aluim (aluminum byproduct). Doctors will suggest it but don%26#039;t. They are finding that this causes dementia and alzheimers later in life. My husband used it for the same reasons as you and his short term memory is not that great. They have done lots of research and it is very bad and absorbs into the bloodstream. Try a holistic approach first. Go to your trusted Healthfood Store and tell them and they will lead you to help.
Reply:No, you prob do not need to see a docter. if your super active and sweat alot, like you said, its either your deoderaunt isn%26#039;t working, or that you aren%26#039;t applaying it right. It sounds wierd, but when I have P.E. at school, i spray a squirt under my arms to keep them smelling ok. (((I know it sounds....diffrent, but it works!!!)))
Reply:The odor is caused by toxins in your system. Do a cleanse. Go to the healthfoodstore and inquire.
Reply:Yes you should see a doctor.

You may be having a little bit nervous problem. But nothing to worry it can be rectified very easily.

As regard deodo take it easy. Try to be in cool and relax atmosphere.
Reply:Deoderant isn%26#039;t meant to prevent sweating, only the odor from it. If you are using an antiperspirant/deoderant and are still having this problem, yes, I%26#039;d recommend you ask your doctor. Also, wear shirts made of printed material, makes it less noticeable. Good luck!
Reply:Yes, you can go and see a doctor. A friend of mine had this issue, he issued her special deoderant that she put on each night as well as gave her a pill to help reduce the sweat. I thought only over weight people had this problem, but she was 5.10 and about 130 lbs.
Reply:Hey there! My step-sister also had this problem. Including her armpits, hands, feet, head...everywhere. She had to see a dr and they gave her medication for it. I am not excatly sure what it%26#039;s called but it definetly sounds like you have some over active sweat glands. My advice: see a specialist. Go to your PCP ( primary care physician ) and have him give you a refferal to the type of specialist you need to see. Goodluck!

In the mean time- to make the marks less noticable, choose the color of shirts you wear carefully, and perhaps take a second shirt to school. Carry some babywipes, ANTI-perspirant (get a deoderant that has an antiperspirant in it), go to the restroom as frequently as you can or feel necessary and freshen up.

But def get to a dr. It%26#039;ll make your life so much easier! Take care and goodluck!
Reply:deodorant stops smell not sweat. try an antiperspirant, which helps control both.
Reply:Check the deodorant you are using. Some are for body odor - and a few are for sweat...

Also, you may want to dab a little talc, corn starch or baby powder under your arms before you leave - great for absorbing sweat.
Reply:Could be something you need to see a doctor about, or it could be hereditary. I sweat only at two times -- day and night -- and I got it from my Mom%26#039;s side of the family. The one thing I have found that works is Certain Dri. It%26#039;s a roll-on you apply at bedtime. You can use normal deodorant during the day without altering the effects. Shuts the water works off every time. You can buy Certain Dri at Walgreen%26#039;s, Rite Aid, and CVS. It%26#039;s not cheap ($6.00 or so for a small bottle) but it%26#039;s worth it.
Reply:try certain-dry anti-persperant
Reply:I hear you dear, it is not the smell I worry about but as you said it is the marks on the clothes, I tried a lot of things even the harmful one the other posts mentioned, they did work but now I%26#039;m scared to use them and back to square one, I would rather see sweat on my clothes than harm myself, so just take care what you wear, I avoid bright colors and I even wear a thin T. shirt under my blouse ti hide it and I even tried pads under my arms, it is not a bad idea!!!!!!!!
Reply:I had that problem a few years back!

You might want to see a doctor but you could try using a product called MITCHUM they make it for both men and women it worked for me!

It is really good product I have been stuck on it for yrs ever since highschool now I have been out of high school for 5 years

http://www.mitchumman.com/content_flash....
Reply:If this only happens when at school or other social situations and you have no problem when you are lounging around the house or with one or two friends, it may be brought on by anxiety. Also , be sure your deodorant has an anti-perspirant in it. I know that I personally can not use the cheap brands. They just do not work for me. I have found that the Dove products and Secret Platinum Protection work best. Try using the %26quot;unscented%26quot; as sometimes the perfumes can compromise the active ingredient. Also the gel forms do not work as well for me either. Try changing brands and formulas if that doesnt work ask your DR and see what he says.
Reply:use powder
Reply:See your docotr about Botox it prevents sweating

Dont sweat the small stuff?

has anybody read don%26#039;t sweat the small stuff... and its all small stuff, by Richard Carlson

If you have the book can you help me with the quote because i can%26#039;t see what it says because my copy machine stinks.

its in chapter 53 and the quote starts with

%26quot;this means that every car, every%26quot; and thats all i can read.

so if you know the quote says and type the quote for me it would help me a lot. Thanks

I started to sweat and smell for the first time in my life, after changing eating habits, can this be related?

My diet until I was 38 was meat and junk food, i never sweat and never ever smell bad, now for the last 3 years I eat much better, lots of vegetables, olive oil, whole wheat bread with nice grains,

almost no red meat ( maybe one portion every two months )

some fish and chicken, and I drink water insted of beer,

I sweat and smell strong, not very pleasnt, can this be related?
I started to sweat and smell for the first time in my life, after changing eating habits, can this be related?
cabbage? asparagus? brussel sprouts? makes your pee smell...why not sweat?
I started to sweat and smell for the first time in my life, after changing eating habits, can this be related?
Yes it can. What we eat does secrete through our pores.
Reply:Think about it.

You started eating right, and now you smell.

When you were a junk food junkie, you didn%26#039;t smell.

I think your nose is working better now.

.
Reply:It very well could be. Your body is used to a certain type of food and you have turned it upside down. I went through the same thing only the opposite way. I, after changing from junk and meat stopped sweating altogether, and don%26#039;t even need to use deordorant. I still have meat, but only red once a month, and like you I eat whole wheat breads and brown rice. I do however drink wine. I would think based on the fact that we both had changes (mine was not bad in the first place, but is now non existant). I would suggest you talk to your doctor to see if there is a supplement or an additional food that may help. I have heard naturalpaths are good at this. I just won%26#039;t go because I happened to get a very bad one.

How to conceal sweat stain on clothes you are wearing?

I always perspire a lot all day long since I live in a hot and humid country. Any daily activites surely make me bath in my own perspiration.

While intense perspiration make my already oily skin look glowing bright, I do not have body odor problem. But sweat make my sheer and tight short-sleeves white blouse uniform which I wear everyday stick on my body, and make visible stain.

How can conceal visible sweat stain on my clothes? Wear something beneath blouse (i.e. camisole) is not allowed.
How to conceal sweat stain on clothes you are wearing?
What tom said is right we all sweat it is no big deal if someone has a problem tell them to smell their own cause I bet youll they wont smell the greatest and if they do they use a lot of doedorant! And I bet they were sweatin all day too! ;)
How to conceal sweat stain on clothes you are wearing?
stop obsessing over it would be best start, we all sweat...........mot a big deal ...........promise
Reply:nice... wear black.
Reply:use a scarf or a shawl. they%26#039;re in style too!!!
Reply:change cloths daily
Reply:Go Naked that will solve this idiot problem....Also try bathing..
Reply:sweating means your healthy, but staining on your clothes is a really big problem.. bath like twice a day, take lots of water, put some baby powder over your body, and lessen some activities that triggers your sweating
Reply:I have that problem as well but after I put on my deodorant, I put powder under my under arms so they can be dry. try that.
Reply:Go for cotton garments rather than somthing heavy. use deos and a lot of talcum. Don%26#039;t wear to figure fitting garments. Leave space for air.
Reply:try a tight fitting cotton tank top under whatever your wearing.it will soak up the sweat.
Reply:There are garment pads alot like shoulder pads you can get to put in your blouses that will help with reducing the noticable sweat marks on clothing.

In school, I sweat for no reason at all? I'm not hot or anything. I just randomly sweat! What should I do?

I have no idea why I sweat! In school I am just fine. I am having to wear white shirts and they get yellow stains (I know it is so nasty!) and I ruin all of my shirts! Please help me!
In school, I sweat for no reason at all? I%26#039;m not hot or anything. I just randomly sweat! What should I do?
Hyperhidrosis aka excessive sweating. Anything can cause this mess. Are u nervous before u start sweating? (I won%26#039;t be surprised if u say %26quot;no but the sweating makes me nervous cos it can be embarrasing%26quot;). You could have over-active sweat glands just like someone has said. Your thyroid may be hyperactive, or it may be your pituitary gland triggering a reaction. Do you feel your heart rate increased while this is going on (without you feeling nervous) Your sympathetic nervous system may be overriding your parasympathetic NS or vice versa.

Check with a doctor of internal medicine. He/She may refer you to a dermatologist (I have no clue why they do this. One explained something having to do with the skin in the armpits and what not. Another explained that the pores may be large that sweat easily passes through. I preferred the second explanation to the first). You may also be referred to an endocrinologist to check your thyroid and other hormones or neurologist to see about your nerves.

Before you see any doc, have u tried stronger anti-perspirants that are OTC. Certain Dri or is it Certain Dry, can be found at WalMart... Use these as directed and with great judgement. If you are not sure, stop and ask questions, okay?

These may leave yellow stains on your shirt from the chemical that%26#039;s contained in the antiperspirant just like others will over time but it is better than having it left there from excessive sweating.

In all, I wish you good luck. It will feel great to be dry for once and wear bright colored shirts. You also save money and not keep having to replace your stained shirts.

Hope this helps some.
In school, I sweat for no reason at all? I%26#039;m not hot or anything. I just randomly sweat! What should I do?
Maybe pack a stick of deodorant in your bag..Put some on during breaks or something o.O I know it%26#039;s not the best advice, But that%26#039;s all I can think of %26gt;.%26lt; Hope it gets better!
Reply:You might just have overactive sweat glands. Don%26#039;t worry, many people do. You can get prescription anti-perspirants from your doctor, or get over the counter ones made for heavy sweat.

To clean your shirts: soak them in OxyClean (not an off-brand. The real stuff!). Put OxyClean in the sink, fill the sink with the hottest water safe for the shirts, and mix together (using gloves--this stuff will burn). Soak the shirt in there for a few hours, then machine wash with both detergent and OxyClean. Trust me, it works! I%26#039;ve cleaned pitstains with this myself.

To prevent: wear a short-sleeved, white undershirt under your white shirts. The undershirts will get the pitstains, but no one sees those anyway! :-)
Reply:sounds like anxiety because it only happens in socail situations like school, rather than at home, where you are more comfortable. It is also likely that your thyroid is overactive or your hormones are out of whack. In any case, first see your doctor and get some blood tests so they can accurately diagnose the problem (Also this takes a while, so do it ASAP). Then get some calcium/magenesium vitamins. This will help overall in the sweating but will also be good for development and health, as obviously you are still a young. adult. Then, buy the e-book Stop Sweating and Start Living, by Mike Ramsey. I don%26#039;t mean to be a cheap skate, but you have to pay the guy, since it was his idea, I can%26#039;t just give it away. But truthfully, it should help you a lot, like solve your problem completely a lot. And alos, the guy is really nice and genuine, a real person that will respond to your emails, rather than some big company that will get around to you. If you have any questions or reservations, talk to him, but honestly the book has worked wonders for many people including myself. You won%26#039;t regret it.
Reply:Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had the ETS surgery done, it%26#039;s very expensive.

I had hyperhidrosis (and a few other symptoms) for many years and went through all the usual treatments.

Anticholinergic drugs, applying topical solutions, botox, and ETS surgery. The surgery was most helpful but several

years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

Years later I was diagnosed with celiac disease, along with a few food allergies. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet and stopped all prescriptions. I began taking supplements:

- Vitamin B complex

Contains 50mg of every B vitamin plus Folic Acid

- Mineral complex

Contains Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, etc.

Pit sweat!!!?

how do i get rid of pit sweat, it comes even wen im just sitting or not even exerciseing, even wen i do exercize it gets worse, help!!!!!
Pit sweat!!!?
ewwww! Try some baby powder!
Pit sweat!!!?
you need antipersperant.

deoderant just hides the smell, anti-persperant keeps underarms dry...
Reply:I recommend you use a cyrstal deodorant in conjunction with antiperspirant. The natural crystal deodorants work at killing the bacteria that causes the sweat while the antiperspirant prevents you from sweating as much.

You might have to order it online because it%26#039;s hard to find in stores.
Reply:There used to be a prescription anti-persperant for hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), But you have to get a script from your doctor or dermatologist.

I sweat way too much!?

Ok.. I want to be wearing all these like hollister cute shirts that i have but, in the middle of the school day my underarms are soked so i have to go put on a sweat shirt i even put on the new clincally proven stuff and it doesnt work . Help!!
I sweat way too much!?
Okay, I don%26#039;t know how to totally stop your sweating, but in the morning put on some Antiperspirant deodorant. I use secret and it works really well. You may not be using the right deodorant for you. I tried at least 10 times before I found one that actually works for me. So try a couple different ones (solids, sprays, roll ons). If it is just because you are sweating too much, put the deodorant in your purse and bring it to school, after about half the day, go into the bathroom and re-apply it.

Hope I helped some!

I sweat way too much!?
yeah same here.

sucks right!??!

i need help too.
Reply:well try some wet proof deoderant it stops all the sweat
Reply:I have that too. I hear you can go to the doctor and they either give you some med for it, or you can have this surgery where they pinch the nerve in your armpit to stop the excessive sweating.

See your doctor. I plan on doing it soon.
Reply:see a doctor it could be serious

Reply:We call it deoderant. I think that if you actually used deoderant then you wouldn%26#039;t have this problem. Don%26#039;t Say that you do use it because one swipe does not count! Glory Be! Please take this advise. It makes me happy to know that i have helped a self concious individual like yourself.

My sweat never stops after I play non-stop 3 hrs?

of badminton...and even after get back home..

another 3 hrs..sweat never stop..why?
My sweat never stops after I play non-stop 3 hrs?
after game the best is to use cold shower..but not immediately as this would be really dangerous for your body..wait %26#039;bout 20-30 min and during this time try to rest..and then you can start with a bit warm water till you use the cold one..this helps 100 %
My sweat never stops after I play non-stop 3 hrs?
your body is still trying to cool. even if you feel cool which is probably from the sweat the body isn%26#039;t
Reply:because it never cool
Reply:Maybe you should try a different deodorant. Its not a bad thing that you sweat especially if you drink a lot of fluids to keep you hydrated. Just don%26#039;t wear anything new .. try wearing a tank top or beater.. but since its getting cold in some places.. maybe buy a sweatshirt just for the cause! :)

I sweat a lot and it gets on my shirt in my underarm area , ....?

is there anything I can do to stop it showing and I sweat when I just stand there
I sweat a lot and it gets on my shirt in my underarm area , ....?
I have told so many people about this stuff. I love it. Read the reviews on this stuff. You can buy it at most drugstores.
I sweat a lot and it gets on my shirt in my underarm area , ....?
Well i know it sounds silly but baby pouder helps alot too
Reply:try shaving the armpits or wearing a teeshirt
Reply:try the diroterrent secret
Reply:i had the same problem use %26quot;MITCHUM%26quot; for women, the one that say ANTI-PERSPIRANT %26amp; DEODORANT it works great....and its clear
Reply:Adidas Cotton Tech deodorant works get. It actually dries my armpits out too much, so I have to you moisturizer. I think it will help you and it doesn%26#039;t have aluminum so it is a lower risk of breast cancer.
Reply:My doctor gave me a prescription for dry sol (or something like that). It works wonders!
Reply:I agree with jenjen, Certain Dri is suppose to be an excellent anti-perspirant.
Reply:Check the product you are using. Many products these days are simply deodorants and not anti-perspirants. All they will do is disguise the smell of your sweat, rather than preventing you from sweating. Buy one that specifically says %26quot;anti-perspirant%26quot; (or deodorant and anti-perspirant), rather than one that just says %26quot;deodorant%26quot;. I use Mitchum and it works pretty well.
Reply:It%26#039;s part of growing up...I read a paper about sweating a lot in class today and all it said was that its normal. Tyr putting deorant on between classes.
Reply:I used to. It was always so embarrassing to have these big wet spots under my arms. I felt like everyone was looking at me.

I started using Certain Dri. You can get it at practically any store. It works great. It actually stops the sweat glands from producing sweat. It can only be used in a small area of the body, but if your armpits sweat like mine did, you will be glad you tried it. I don%26#039;t even have to use it everyday just every other day.

I tried everything. I made sure it said anti-persperant but it didn%26#039;t matter. This stuff did the trick. Good luck!

Night sweats and feverish feeling?

I have had worsening night sweats for at least a year now. I also feel feverish at many times during the day. However, when I take my temp at the times that I feel feverish, it is usually around 98.

I have had full thyroid testing done about six months ago (tsh, t3, t4) and that all came back normal. I just don%26#039;t know what to do. This is really interfering with my sleep now and I%26#039;m feeling worse from being unable to get good rest.

Any suggestions for me?

P.S. I am female, 32 years old, no children, normal periods, on oral contraceptive.
Night sweats and feverish feeling?
Is it a new or different contraceptive? Did your doctor check your hormone levels too? If u want to try a natural supplement that may help try either dong quai or a really good Omega Three supplement as these are both suggested for menopausal type symptoms (hot flashes, mood swings) Here are a couple of web links that may help.

Night sweats and feverish feeling?
My friend got those same symptoms because she was taking melatonin every days for sleep, and it was suppressing her hormones.

It could be anything, but I bet you%26#039;ll get more information if you go off the pill. I know people like being on the pill but in my limited experience it REALLY messes with your system.

Pregnat and cold sweat?

I just found out i am six weeks pregnat and i been getting this cold sweat now for about a month or so. Can they have anything to do with each other? When i sleep with the fan on i do not sweat

very very normal. if you do a search on the internet for %26quot;Pregnancy Symptoms%26quot; you will see what to be alarmed about and what not to be. i recommend babycenter.com. i got here for all of my information and worries. good luck sweety. ive only got 6 weeks to go.
Pregnat and cold sweat?
Yes, in the beginning of my pregnancy I would always wake up in the middle of the night sweating.
Reply:Hormones are no joke. I am sweating one minute and freezing the next. My hubby laughs at me b/c when I go to bed my teeth are chattering and then I wake up a few hours later and strip off my pj top and turn the ceiling fan on. lol Good Luck!!

you can try a %26quot;clinical strength%26quot; anti-pirspriant, or there are other treatments that your dr can help you with including botox injections under the arms which reduces the activity of the sweat glands. And I belive there are oral medications as well.

Hand sweat?
I have this problem and this is what i know to help. take some tea bags, put them in hot water. pull them out and let them cool. squeeze them for a few minutes. do this 2 times a day for a week or two. it should help.
Hand sweat?
do it a few weeks and it%26#039;ll last about a month. Report It

Reply:Sweaty palms is the most common of the hyperhidrosis. I%26#039;d see a doctor to find out the cause. Sometimes there is an underlying hormonal problem. Medicines can be given. There is also a spray called Dry Hold for Hands by sweataway.com

The surgery is called Thoracic Sympathectomy, which is done endoscopically, usually as an outpatient and takes only about 30 minutes. The surgery is recommended for severe palmar hyperhidrosis.

As a teen and still growing I had this problem. I just always wiped my hands before shaking anothers. Sometimes my palms were sweating more when I was nervous. This all eventually went away and I don%26#039;t have it anymore except for rare occasions when I feel under great pressure.
Reply:you can try to use an aluminum chloride liquid deodorant on your hands like certain dri or maxim i asked my doctor about this and she said it is safe although it may sting alittle bit but it will prolly work really well and you can buy certain dri in most drug stores but you have to buy maxim online but make sure if you buy certain dri you buy the one that doesnt say a.m. and it is the one you use at night, hope this helps :)
Reply:If you sweat excessively, you may have %26quot;hyperhidrosis%26quot; and there are treatments available that are WAY more safe and effective than surgery. Here%26#039;s the skinny:

%26gt;You can use anti-perspirants on your hands (try Secret Clinical Strength).

%26gt;Iontophoresis works really well (over 80% get great results). You have to get a prescription from your doctor (ususally a dermatologist) to order the device, but you can do the treatments on your own at home. Lovely!

%26gt;Botox injections: work wonders and last for over 6 months, but you need to find a dermatologist that knows how to do it pain-free. Also, this is a very cool option because research is finding that when you get your hands treated sucessfully, for some fabulous reason your feet tend to sweat less.

Do not EVER consider surgery. There are horrible side effects associted with it, plus if you%26#039;re a guy and you try to get your feet treated, you run the high chance that in the future you%26#039;ll be impotent. And do not believe their hype that it%26#039;s reversible. There have been no studies to date where that%26#039;s been successful.

You can find tons of info at the International Hyperhidrosis Society%26#039;s website: www.SweatHelp.org, even find a doc that%26#039;s familiar with diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!

I sweat too much! Help?

My armpits, and my hands too. I have tried pretty much all the deodorants! I currently have %26quot;Secret Clinical Strength%26quot; and it doesn%26#039;t even work for me.

It%26#039;s embarressing. I can%26#039;t even shake someone%26#039;s hand.

I know about botox, and other treatments, but I%26#039;m sure its very expensive.

Does anyone know some inexpensive ways to help this, or minimize the amount I sweat?

Any %26quot;at-home%26quot; things I can use??

Please!!
I sweat too much! Help?
I%26#039;ve the perfect over-the-counter powder for you!

It%26#039;s called Zeasorb. You can get a large plastic container of it for about $11. It won%26#039;t be on the shelf, usually. You have to ask the phamacy counter person for it.

There are two kinds..one red print (regular) and one in blue print. The one in blue print is for athlete%26#039;s foot and is medicated.

I use the red-printed one. I put it under my arms on top of my anti-perspirant and it works great.

I%26#039;m thinking it would also work for your hands, because it really works for my feet.

Try it!!!
I sweat too much! Help?
This may very well be something a doctor needs to look at. There is a disorder that causes this and is treatable by prescription medication only.
Reply:the doctor will know but you could try some organic deodorant at a health store or some drugstores. Also, you could use BAN i use it and its really good! good luck! I fell for you
Reply:You can buy sweat shields to put in your clothing which will help stop the sweat from showing under your armpits, as for your hands, wipe them on your trousers before shaking someones hand.
Reply:Certain Dri is the only thing that really works for me. You put it on the night before, and it works perfectly.

As for the hands, I don%26#039;t know what to tell you - I%26#039;d check with my physician or dermatologist.
Reply:It%26#039;s called hyperhidrosis and I share your misery. I can%26#039;t think of the websites name off hand but if you enter %26quot;excessive sweating%26quot; (AKA diaphoresis) in your browser you will come up with several sites that specialize in this...including support groups. Good luck.

Why do we sweat so much when we work out or do vigorous exercises?

What does the sweat do for our bodies? Is it good to sweat a lot when working out?
Why do we sweat so much when we work out or do vigorous exercises?
Its our bodies way of regulating body temperature. When sweat evaporates from the surface of your skin, it removes excess heat and cools you down. If you really want detailed information, check out this website.

Why do we sweat so much when we work out or do vigorous exercises?
its cools your body and keeps you from overheating
Reply:It%26#039;s the body%26#039;s way of cooling off.
Reply:sweating is your body cooling itself off. if you did not sweat at these times, you could literally par boil your self
Reply:It cools your body. I heard that the more %26quot;in-shape%26quot; you are the more you sweat.
Reply:We sweat to control our body temperature. Sweating actually cools us down by evaporation.
Reply:Sweating is part of our body%26#039;s cooling system. Yes sweating is good and exercise is good. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water to replace the water you sweat out.
Reply:Some people sweat more than others.

It%26#039;s good because it means you%26#039;re pushing yourself, working hard.

When we are working hard and expending energy our body heats up as you%26#039;d expect. Same as a car being driven or a computer being on. It begins to heat up.

In order to cool down the body has it%26#039;s own temperature regulation system in the form of sweat. Perspiring cools the skin. The harder you work out, the more you need to cool down, the more you sweat.
Reply:Our ability to sweat is partly responsible for us being the dominate species on the planet. It enables us to be able to outrun every other animal on the planet. Even a horse will overheat after awhile and must stop so as to cool down but a human can run forever.
Reply:Its natural cooling system and also it helps release the toxins in your body. I do Bikram Yoga, Hot Yoga in a 105 degree room. All we do is sweat no matter what.

Reply:I have three sons and never had this problem...you say he is kept cool yet still sweats...that does not sound right....I am no doctor...so I would at least ask the babies doctor..it NEVER hurts to ask a doctors opinion, SPECIALLY when it comes to ur babies. I don%26#039;t really see no harm in him sweating...other then u need to make sure he drinks PLENTY of water, IF he is over six months age....but to me that doesn%26#039;t sound normal if he is kept in a cool surrounding....I would be worried he may some hidden problem that you may be unaware of.....

Night Sweats?

For the last week or so I have been having night sweats which have woken me up almost consistently around 5am. I%26#039;ve been having toruble with anxiety and also depression lately surrounding health issues. Could this be the reason behind it?
Night Sweats?
Anxiety is the mnost likely cause, but get it checked out by a doctor as there are medical conditions which can cause night sweats;
Night Sweats?
Anxiety can do all sorts of things to your body, so yes, could be. But I understand that night sweats can also be a symptom of other disorders, so I%26#039;d get it checked if I were you.
Reply:The night sweats could certainly be happening because of anxiety. I get this too.

However there are a number of other reasons that night sweats can occur so it would be wise to consult your doctor to make sure it%26#039;s the anxiety that is causing it.

A blood test can rule out any other possible problems.

Hope that helps.
Reply:i know exactly how you feel, ive suffered anxiety for years-the doc told me that these occur due to stress and worries,if you are having health problems then it is understandable you are stressed out.if your anxiety gets bad you should go to the docs and get medication, depression is an illness and can be treated.i take citalopram 10mg everyday,it only mild, but has worked wonders for me!!and you may only need for a short while.hope everything works out ok for you, nessie
Reply:don%26#039;t know your age ? but PERIMENAPAUSE ( been there not cool ) and Menapause, can cause night sweats and all the other stuff you mentioned.

Herbal stuff now a day. or check out a sight on Menapause to see if they have some hints. hope this helps.
Reply:Get a blood test and ask about Lyme Disease!

I sweat a lot?

I feel like I sweat a LOT! I dont smell at all and im not a dirty person..but sometimes when i%26#039;m at work I%26#039;ll feel like i%26#039;ve been sweatin under my arms..even though it isn%26#039;t even hot. any tips???
I sweat a lot?
If a different brand of antipersperant (not deoderant) or using baby powder/cornstarch/other powders don%26#039;t help, talk to your doctor about Drysol; it is formulated to reduce excess sweating.

You can also buy Hydrosal over the counter, which does the same thing. See attached link.
I sweat a lot?
keep some extra baby powder on hand. it will help asorb the wet feeling and if there is any odor.

I sweat way too much, is there a solution to this problem?!?

in the morning, while i%26#039;m getting ready for school, my armpits are completly dry. as soon as i get to school, my i begin to sweat alot, even if i%26#039;m just sitting there doing nothing. i wear deodorant everyday, but it doesn%26#039;t help at all. i am so self consious, and i would really like this problem to stop. HELP!!!!
I sweat way too much, is there a solution to this problem?!?
You sweat too much because maybe you have hyperhidrosis. You should go to a doctor because there are ways to treat it.

I also have hyperhidrosis and i know that the most typical solution is desodorants of aluminum chloride.

If it dont result there are more solutions such as injections of botox.

I hope this helps

Bye
I sweat way too much, is there a solution to this problem?!?
well, it%26#039;s cus you drink too much water! just eat crackers before you work out.
Reply:Buy a stronger deodarant- try buying male deodarant. They%26#039;re much stronger. SHAVE- shaving reduces sweat and odor. Hopefully these help- best of luck :-)
Reply:Sweating can be caused by drinking the wrong stuff, and your body is trying to get rid of it,it also can be something more serious, sometimes our bodies sweat to cool us down when its really hot ,but you should find out what type you have if its that bad.Good luck!!
Reply:I sweat quite a bit myself, I switched from Right Guard to Degree....Degree has been the best anti-perspirant/deodorant on the market, in my opinion
Reply:you have not told me your weight your age ,but it very well may be that you are anxious, try mitchum deordorant for gals..try cool showers and lighter clothing....and the more you worry the more you will sweat, if you think it is getting worse then have a good physical....you may be at an age were hormones surface.....so try my suggestions and stop worrying....kara
Reply:There is a difference between a deoderant and an anti-perspirant. A deoderant only covers smell, by restricting the bacteria that grow in sweat- not by preventing it. An anti-perspirant discourages sweating, and that controls the bacteria growth. Most products are a combination of the two, and come in varying strengths. You just need to try different brands to see what works best for you. Teenagers tend to be more sensitive to the normal amounts of sweat produced, and you are probably not really sweating excessively. Try to use a body powder or even cornstarch under your arms, to absorb the moisture some. Also take care to wear looser clothing, preferably natural fibers like cotton or wool. Those will absorb moisture, which nylon and man-made materials don%26#039;t. Looser layers will also not trap as much body heat, and if you aren%26#039;t so insulated, you won%26#039;t need to sweat so much to lower your body temperature. Tight fitted, nylon clothing just encourages more sweating because it traps heat and doesn%26#039;t breathe.

As you get further towards adulthood, and the changes from puberty settle down, you will not notice the problem quite as much. Right now your body is changing quite a bit, although you don%26#039;t notice the changes going on inside. As long as you are using a deoderant/antiperspirant, and the body powder, it%26#039;s likely the only one who is aware of this is you. So just do what you can reasonably do, and relax about the rest. Sweat is a normal and natural process of the body, necessary for it to function properly, and you wouldn%26#039;t really want to interfere with that. Good hygiene will take care of any odor problem, and the rest you can just ignore. As I said, it will all work out in time as you mature physically a little more. Good luck, and relax. You are really normal.
Reply:Look for deodorants that are %26#039;for heavy perspiration%26#039;.

If you are in the UK there is a product called Driclor you can buy over the counter and find in supermarkets, pharmacies etc.

If you%26#039;re in the us you can buy Drysol but I think you need a prescription.

You can also buy a product called Maxim from http://www.stopsweat.com

Most of these you apply at night and wash off in the morning, then use normal deodorant during the day.

I had exactly the same problem as you and started using Driclor which cured it in a matter of days. You still sweat, but only when you exercise or get very hot etc. Basically it makes you sweat normally.

I sweat really bad?

I am less than 14 and sweat a lot under the arms. I go dancing nearly everyday. I get hot so take off my hoodie but i have wet patches. really big ones and even if I wear a vest it still gets really wet. I get picked on for this and i really want it to stop. I have tryed every deodorant and anti-persprant on the market.

Any ideas on how to stop the wet patches

Pllllleeeeaaaassseeee
I sweat really bad?
me 2, go to walgreens and get Certain Dry roll on antipersperant if you use it how it says you will be fine, it is the only thing i have found that works

- you also might wanna use a regular deoderant at the same time (put it on after) otherwise you might smell bad.
I sweat really bad?
there is a deodrant called, secret clinical strength. try it! it worked for me, i hope it works for you too...
Reply:All you can do is wear antiperspirant.

Make sure you get an even layer. Spray from a couple of feet away. The spray works by placing a thin layer of material on your skin that should trap sweat.
Reply:i have the same thang going on with me but i have still not found a way for it to stop
Reply:There are prescription types of anti-perspirant out there. you can ask your doctor about those. Also make sure you use anti-perspirant, not just a deodorant. A lot of people make that mistake and will buy things that are only deodorants. there is a type of anti-perspirant treatment called Certain-Dry, or something like that, that you put on at night before you go to bed. it actually shrinks the sweat glands in your under arms. You will begin to see results in a few days. you will sweat more in other places (forehead for example) to compensate, but it isn%26#039;t a big difference. if this doesn%26#039;t work, there are operations you can get if it really is a serious issue. I, too, have a problem with excess underarm sweat, and have tried a lot of products. I have also found that after a while, a product that used to work ok, loses its potency. not sure why that happens, but I make do with switching around. Degree has also come out with a clinical strength deodorant. it is a little pricy, but works GREAT when used with the Certain-Dry treatment at night.

hope this helps
Reply:Excessive sweating has a medical named - Hyperhidrosis.

I%26#039;d do research on the internet about it to see if the symptons are ones which you have and then consult a doctor. The doctor will then prescribe you and over the counter deoderant/antiperspirant which contains alluminim chloride which will attempt to dry out your glands. (Certain Dri). If this doesnt work you%26#039;ll get a prescription deoderant which contains a certain other chemical. If neither works the doctor will recommend Iontophoresis -- a device which passes direct electricity through the skin using tap water, oral medication, botox, or even surgery.

But I would def. consult a doctor if nothing else helps! Try getting Certain Dri first, you should be able to get it at any store.
Reply:i had same problem u need to go to ur pharmacy or doctor and ask for driclor solution u have over active sweat glands nothing to worry about tho u use this roll on at night wash it off in morning and then a deo over it takes about 3 days but u will notice results quickly gd luk xxx
Reply:oh well i dont know i have the same problem but not alot
Reply:i dont really know. im sorry i have the same problem. if anyone knows the correct answer and it works for you please email me at vctrssecret@yahoo.com thnx!!!
Reply:Keep a small bottle of baby powder and a small mini travel size antiperspirant with you. Put some baby powder under your arms before you become active. Stop dancing in heavy clothes. That may also help : ) Good Luck
Reply:their are prescription types of anti-perspirant visit you family doctor-they also offer shots under your arm-pits to shrink the sweat glands several celebrities inject them for award shows, red carpet appearances, live broadcasting, magazine shots and etc. (my friend has them injected it works great and inexpensive)

GOOD-LUCK

Night Sweats?

OK, it%26#039;s a summer month. i wake up finding that i%26#039;ve sweated over night. Could this be a very serious condition?

wait

one thing, my airconditioner is weird. everytime we set it down to 76 degrees in hot summer months, it always goes up to 80 sometimes 84 degrees at night! and i tend to put on a thick blanket. i%26#039;m not cold, it%26#039;s just a habit when i go to sleep. i am a very healthy person. i don%26#039;t have any fevers, no unexplained weight losses. Could this be a serious condition or just because it%26#039;s too hot in my house, and i%26#039;m wearing a blanket?

note: this does not happen in the winters, only the summers, but not everynight.
Night Sweats?
You are sweating because you are under a thick blanket on a hot summers night and your airconditioning is not working properly. There is nothing wrong with your health you are just overheating.
Night Sweats?
Get ur AC repaired %26amp; get rid of the blanket during summer.
Reply:night sweats is one of the characteristic sign of tuberculosis. but in ur case, which u pointed out that 1) it%26#039;s summer 2) your AC does not work well 3) u sleep under a thick blanket.. just means that your environment in the problem and not ur health.

Why do I sweat between my **** cheeks so much? Serious question?

Everyday I sweat uncontrollably starting at the lower back and down between my **** cheeks, I%26#039;ve been to the doctor and he said try powder but that doesn%26#039;t seem to work, the area stays so moist that it rubs and I get chafed, I try to dry it about 10 times a day but it continues, I%26#039;m 37 and this just started about 6 or 7 months ago, its uncomfortable and I change my underwear twice a day. It could be 30 degrees outside and I could be doing no physical exurtion and I sweat only in this area. This is a serious question please help.
Why do I sweat between my **** cheeks so much? Serious question?
It might be a weight problem, if it is, you might want to loose some weight . 30minutes of Cardio is a good start, then gradually increasing by 15min every 2 weeks.
Why do I sweat between my **** cheeks so much? Serious question?
Have you changed anything in your diet?

Are you using lotion or a soap that contains a moisturizer? This may be adding to the moisture build-up.
Reply:No particular reason. Just try to keep it dry and maybe apply anti-persipirants.

If you dont have a overall sweating problem, the doc wont give you meds to control your sweating.
Reply:Shave the area or try botox if you are sweating excessively.

Why do i sweat so much..wuts wrong with me i sweat for no reason at all..?

i sweat alot...and i have tried every deoderent ..in every form..wut is rong with me it been lyk this since i was in the 6 th grade and got worser as i approched the 9 th plz help
Why do i sweat so much..wuts wrong with me i sweat for no reason at all..?
Hey there - I recently answered this same question for another girl...heres my answer

Hey there - I%26#039;m an 19 yr old girl I%26#039;ve been going through the same thing since i was in grade 5 - its horrible and i%26#039;m still dealing with it. its hyperhydrosis... overactive sweat glands.

Mitchum is a good anti perspirant . those dove secret products etc dont have the ability to really stop sweat, those are just for odour.....

i tried Drysol...you can get it usually over the counter in a drugstore - wal mart probably has it too i havent checked though...it works pretty well, though my situation was quite bad and it did not do enough for me. i would try this one first

then i tried Maxim, pretty much a stronger version, had to get it overthe internet, though it didnt do much else.

I finally ended up going to my dermatologist and received the botox injections. trust me i really didnt want to resort to this but nothing else had worked for me, but it truely has changed my life - trust me i know what you%26#039;re going through.

you%26#039;re still young, I would wait it out a bit and try Drysol - but MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW how to apply it, at night, etc. or it won%26#039;t work to its best ability.

Talk to your parents. My botox injections were covered under their health insurance plans. the best way to solve it is to make sure to talk to your parents (if you havent already).

I%26#039;ll be honest though, people used to tell me when i was your age to %26quot;just wait it out, you%26#039;ll grow out of it%26quot; my family doctor used to tell me this, but i%26#039;m almost 20 and its still just as bad as it was in public school. if you cannot get better from over the counter antiperspirants, then i would strongly suggest finding out if this would be covered. i know how muhc you%26#039;re missing out on and i just wish i did this years ago.

PS - my dermotologist told me to stop using antiperspirants with scents...the less chems the better

PPS - people can say all they want - Dont wear all those clothes you%26#039;re just making yourself hot etc etc and its all a bunch of crap, you can%26#039;t do anything about it, you can be wearing a thin cotton tee shirt and still be sweating just as bad with a hoodie on... for people who have it that bad nothing will change it.
Why do i sweat so much..wuts wrong with me i sweat for no reason at all..?
Hi, the guy who wrote you is pretty accurate. It is called hyperhidrosis, it is excessive sweating, and a lot of people have this condition. It is nothing you are doing wrong, it is just that your body excessively sweats. I work at a dermatologist%26#039;s office, and there are prescription antiperspirants that you can try to help things. They do use Botox for it now, but I would try the Drysol or other deoderants first. It is a condition that you can seek help with at a dermatologists and they can recommend the best products. Good luck.

I sweat a lot, even during cool weather, pls help?

Please, does anyone knows why I sweat alot, even during cool season... With stained armpit and I%26#039;m always embarrassed because of this!
I sweat a lot, even during cool weather, pls help?
The doctor can give you a prescription antiperspirant that will help. One cause may be if you are over weight. Fat causes more heat.
I sweat a lot, even during cool weather, pls help?
talk to your doc.
Reply:Apparently you can have botox injections under your arms and that will help. You could ask at your local beauty salon if they do botox.
Reply:That happens with some people. There are different kinds of cures for that - even botox is being used for sweaty armpits now.
Reply:I had a friend like this. IT is a medical condition and you can talk to your doctor about it. I believe there is something you can do about it.
Reply:I used to have that problem too. I ordered Maxim antiperspirant off the internet and if you put it on at night you don%26#039;t sweat at ALL during the day! I used to sweat through every shirt and now I don%26#039;t sweat at all. The website looks weird (google maxim deodorant), but it%26#039;s totally legit, and it works GREAT! Try it, you won%26#039;t be sorry!
Reply:Same thing happens to my boyfriend. His doctor said its because of his high blood pressure.

I sweat a lot???

ok so i have this problem.. wherever i go i seem to sweat a ton. i have pit stains within 2 minutes of putting on my shirt.it is really embarrasing and i have to wear a sweatshirt all the time. i am young... how do i tell my mom about this problem?? also, what are some good solutions???
I sweat a lot???
Just tell your mom the problem. It%26#039;s best if she knew.

You suffer from hyperhidrosis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperhidros...

First try antiperspirant like Drysol, Maxim, or Megadry.

If those do not help and are too costly (they only work temporarily) you should research more on iontophoresis machines.

These machines can help victims hyperhidrosis. Iontophoresis machines are costly though.

Here%26#039;s a link to more treatments info:

http://www.esfbchannel.com/treatments/sw...

And

http://www.socialphobiaworld.com/postt68...

I would not recommend surgery (ETS) unless you have tried every treatment possible and that includes just living with sweaty underarms. There are many risks involved in ETS, contrary to what ETS surgeons say. If you ever want to go through with surgery I will recommend you research as much as possible on ETS online and get opinions on it from different MDs medical doctors that are not ETS surgeons such as dermatologists. ETS surgeons might hide information from you to rake in the $$$. This has been done before.

Hope this helps!

Good luck with your hyperhidrosis treatments.
I sweat a lot???
You can try the new clinical strength secret or degree deodorant. If that doesnt work, a dermatologist can actually inject Botox into your arm pits now. This actually does work, however, they will only do it for you if the above has been tried and failed. They also may try prescrpition topical creams before the Botox injection.

Most likely your mom already knows, especially if she does your laundry. My daughter has this problem and she has tried everything except the Botox and my sister had to do that and it really worked for her. This is a very common condition so don%26#039;t let it get to you so bad. Telling your mom might just be the best thing. She not only would get you help, but she could provide emotional support as well. You need some reassurance right now, so I would just tell mom if I were you. You may be surprized how understanding she will be. She may even deal with this herself, or has in the past, or she may have another family member that suffers from this. You dont know until you ask. You will feel much better if you have some support.
Reply:just get this secret clinical strength antipersperant, i have the same problem.

but you can find it at wallgreens by the deoderant.

its like 18 bucks and it really works

just dont put it on after shaving or shower.

put it on before you go to bed at night before school.

Good luck!

Scrotum Sweat?

Yes, that%26#039;s correct, what causes heavy Scrotum sweat and what can be done to reduce it. Yes it%26#039;s gross, and I%26#039;m sorry for asking.
Scrotum Sweat?
Not sure if this helps but my scrotum seems to sweat when I%26#039;m really nervous or anxious. ALso I work in the landscaping field and my scrotum sweats when I%26#039;m in extreme heat, sometimes causing a rash between my legs that is very painful until I get home and put baby powder on it.
Scrotum Sweat?
Well done for stepping up to the plate ;-)

Talc is a good idea. An anti-perspirant will also work there.

Ladies, do you sweat a lot?

I am thinkin bout goin to the doctor bcos I sweat so much, I can only wear dark tops bcos of it, the worst thing is that I sweat accross my top lip and forehead, is this normal, I am not overweight. thanx
Ladies, do you sweat a lot?
There is a known medical condition that causes you to sweat but have you been checked for diabetes at all?

I don%26#039;t sweat as I use a really good roll on called Mitchum. It lasts me well through a day without one drop of sweat under my arms. I used it when I was a Police Officer and was always as fresh at the end of a shift as at the beginning.

Check with your GP as over sweating can be a sign of other illnesses.

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Excessive sweating is a common problem, especially of the palms, armpits and soles. It can be distressing and can have a serious impact on your life. In some cases, affected people avoid social contact with others because of embarrassment about the problem. However, the condition is usually treatable.

What is excessive sweating?

Normal sweating is a way to help keep the body temperature steady in hot weather, during a fever, or when exercising. Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) means that you sweat much more than normal. Even when you are not hot, anxious or exercising you make a lot of sweat.

Excessive sweating is classified as either focal or generalized. It is important to know which type you have as the causes and treatments are very different.

Focal excessive sweating (focal hyperhidrosis)

This means that excessive sweating occurs in one or more of the following %26#039;focal%26#039; places: palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits (axillae), or face. You sweat normally on the rest of the body. The cause is not known and it is not associated with any other conditions. It just seems that the sweat glands in these areas are %26#039;overactive%26#039; or more sensitive than normal. In some people, it may %26#039;run in the family%26#039; so there may be some genetic factor in causing it. It usually first develops in the teenage years, but it can develop at any age. Men and women are equally affected.

The severity can vary from time to time. It may %26#039;come and go%26#039; and can be made worse by %26#039;triggers%26#039; such as anxiety, emotion, spicy foods, and heat. Anxiety about the sweating itself may make it worse. However, for most of the time, nothing obvious triggers the sweating. Focal excessive sweating usually develops under the age of 25. It affects about 3 in 100 people. It tends to be a long-term condition, but symptoms improve in some cases over time.

If you have focal excessive sweating, you do not need any tests as there is usually no known underlying cause. Your doctor may suggest one or more of the treatments (listed later) if %26#039;normal%26#039; antiperspirants do not work very well.

Generalized excessive sweating (generalized hyperhidrosis)

This means that you sweat more than normal %26#039;all over%26#039;. This is less common than focal excessive sweating. However, it is usually caused by an underlying medical condition. A whole range of conditions can cause increased sweating. For example: anxiety disorders, various heart problems, damage to nerves in the spinal cord, side-effect to certain drugs, various hormone problems, infections, certain cancers, etc. If you have generalized excessive sweating your doctor is likely to examine you and do some tests to find out the cause. Treatment depends on the cause.

The rest of this leaflet is only about focal excessive sweating.

What are the possible complications of focal excess sweating?

Although not a medically serious condition, excessive sweating can be distressing and embarrassing. For example, if you have bad palm sweating you tend to have a %26#039;cold sweaty handshake%26#039; and sweat may drip from your hands onto work documents, onto computer keyboards, etc. If you have bad armpit sweating, you may become embarrassed by the frequent %26#039;wet-patch%26#039; that develops on clothes under your arms. You may need to change clothes during the day. You may avoid social contact or avoid doing sports because of embarrassment about the condition.

Other complications are uncommon. In some cases, the affected skin can become macerated and prone to infection. There is an increased risk of developing eczema on the affected skin.

What are the treatment options for focal excessive sweating?

General tips and advice

The following may be all that you need if the condition is mild, and may help in addition to other treatments in more severe cases.

If you find that soaps irritate the affected skin, use a bland soap substitute such as an emollient (moisturiser) ointment or cream.

If possible, avoid any triggers which can make things worse such as heat or spicy food.

If you have armpit sweating:

Try using %26#039;normal%26#039; antiperspirants regularly. (Note: there is a difference between antiperspirants and deodorants. Antiperspirants reduce the release of sweat, deodorants mask any unpleasant smell. However, sweat does not have a smell. It is only sweaty clothes that are not changed that may become smelly.)

Avoid clothes that more easily show up sweat marks. For example, as a rule, white and black coloured clothes are less noticeable when wet than other colours.

Wear loose clothing under the armpits, and preferably not made with man-made fibres such as lycra and nylon.

If you have excessive feet sweating, it can help to:

Change socks at least twice daily.

Use an absorbent foot powder twice daily.

Wear a different pair of shoes on alternate days, to allow them to dry fully.

Avoid sport shoes or boots, as these are likely to have an occlusive effect.

Aluminium chloride - a strong antiperspirant

If normal antiperspirants do not work, you doctor may advise an antiperspirant that contains aluminium chloride. This works like a %26#039;strong%26#039; antiperspirant. It is thought to work by blocking the openings of the sweat ducts. It tends to work best in the armpits. However, it may also work for sweating of the palms and soles. Although it may also work on the face, some doctors do not recommend using this on the face as it may cause severe eye irritation if it gets into an eye.

There are several brands of aluminium chloride based antiperspirants. For example; Driclor and Anhydrol Forte which come in a bottle with a roll-on applicator; ZeaSORB - a dusting powder that contains aluminium chloride; and Odaban spray that contains aluminium chloride. You can buy these at pharmacies, and some are also available on prescription. It is important to use aluminium chloride based antiperspirants correctly. Read the instructions that come with the product you use. These usually include the following:

Apply to clean, dry skin. (It is more likely to cause irritation on wet or moist skin.) Therefore, wipe the skin dry with a towel or dry flannel before applying. Some people use a hair dryer to make sure the skin is dry before applying.

Ideally, apply at night (bedtime) when the sweat glands are less likely to be as active.

Wash it off the next morning.

Do not shave the area 24 hours before or after use.

Avoid getting it in the eyes, and do not apply on broken or inflamed skin.

Apply every 24-48 hours until the condition improves. Then apply once every 1-3 weeks, depending on response. (It may take a few weeks to build up its effect. This is because it is thought to gradually clog up the sweat gland which causes a gradual reduction in sweating.)

If successful, treatment can be continued indefinitely. You may only need to apply it once every 1-3 weeks to keep the sweating under control.

Note: aluminium chloride antiperspirants often cause skin irritation or inflammation. If this occurs, it is often still worth persevering if the irritation is tolerable as the benefit may outweigh the irritation. To reduce the effects of any skin irritation or inflammation that may occur:

Reduce frequency of use; and/or

Apply a short course of a mild steroid cream such as hydrocortisone 1% to the affected area twice daily. Steroid creams reduce inflammation; and/or

Apply an emollient (moisturiser) every day after applying the aluminium chloride.

Iontophoresis

This is a treatment that uses electrical stimulation. It is used mainly to treat sweating of the palms and/or soles. It can also be used to treat armpit sweating. Treatment involves putting the affected areas (usually hands and/or feet) into a small container filled with water. A small electrical current is then passed through the water from a special machine. It is not painful or dangerous, but may cause a %26#039;pins and needles%26#039; feeling. The exact way this helps to treat sweating is not known. It may help to block the sweat glands in some way.

Treatment usually consists of 3-4 treatment sessions per week. Each treatment session lasts 20-40 minutes. Most people report an improvement after 6-10 sessions. A maintenance treatment is then typically required once every 1-4 weeks to keep symptoms away. If the treatment does not work with tap water, a drug called gycopromium bromide is sometimes added to the water. This seems to improve the rate of success. However, iontophoresis does not work in every case.

Until recently the %26#039;downside%26#039; to iontophoresis is that it required a trip to hospital for each treatment session. This can be time-consuming and impractical for some. However, modern machines are smaller and can now be bought for home use. So, if you find that this treatment works for you, you may wish to consider buying a machine to use at home. However, you should take advice from the specialist who recommended iontophoresis for you before you buy a machine.

You should not have iontophoresis if you are pregnant, or have a metal implant (such as a pin to fix a fracture), or if you have a pacemaker.

Botulinum toxin injections

This is an option that usually works well for armpit sweating. Treatment consists of many small injections just under the skin in the affected areas. The botulinum toxin stops the nerves in the skin that control the sweat glands from working. Botulinum toxin is sometimes used to treat sweating of the palms and face. However, there is a risk that the injections may stop some of the nearby small muscles of the hands or face from working. To many people, this risk is not worth taking.

The downside of botulinum toxin is that the effect usually wears off after 4-12 months. Therefore, to keep working, the treatment needs repeating when the effect wears off. Some people get mild %26#039;flu like%26#039; symptoms for a day or so after treatment. Also, the sites of the injections can be sore for a few days after treatment. Rarely, a severe allergic reaction can occur after an injection.

Medication

Medicines that block the effect of the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands are sometimes used. For example, propantheline. These medicines are not used very often. This is because the success of these medicines is variable. Also, side-effects commonly occur. For example, a dry mouth and blurred vision. However, in some cases they work well and side-effects are minor.

Surgery

An operation is an option for people who have not been helped much by other treatments, or if other treatments cause unacceptable side-effects or problems.

For armpit sweating - an option is to remove the sweat glands in the armpit. There are various techniques. For example, one operation is to cut out the area of skin in the armpit that contains the sweat glands. This usually works to reduce sweating, but a number of people have had problems after this operation due to scarring and a loss of the full range of movement of the arm. A newer technique to %26#039;scrape%26#039; the sweat glands from the under side of the skin through a small hole cut in the skin appears to give good results with less risk of complications.

For palm sweating - an option is to have an operation to cut some of the nerves that run down the side of the spinal cord. These nerves control the sweat glands in the hands. The operation is called %26#039;sympathectomy%26#039;. It is done by %26#039;key-hole%26#039; surgery using a special telescope to locate the nerve, and then to cut the nerve. Most people are pleased with the result of the operation. However, a complication that sometimes occurs following this operation is a compensatory increase in sweating in other parts of the body (such as in the chest or groin). Because of this effect, a small number of people who have this operation say that they regret having it done.

Before you undergo surgery, you should have a full discussion with the surgeon you are referred to. He or she will explain the pros and cons of the different surgical techniques, chance of success (usually high), and possible risks and complications. For example, as with any other type of surgery, there is a small risk from the anaesthetic. Also, wound infection and damage to other nearby structures, although uncommon, are other possible complications.

Surgery is not usually done for sweating of the soles. Although cutting the nerves next to the spinal cord in the lower back region may cure the problem of sweating, there is a high risk of this also affecting sexual function.

I had hyperhidrosis (and a few other symptoms) for many years and went through all the usual treatments including anticholinergic prescription drugs, antiperspirants, botox, and ETS surgery. The surgery was most helpful but several years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

Years later I was diagnosed with celiac disease, along with a few food allergies. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet and stopped all prescriptions. I began taking supplements:

- Vitamin B complex, 50mg of every B vitamin plus Folic Acid

- Mineral complex, contains Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, etc.

How to remove sweat stains from a polyester /wool tie?

Yesterday I asked this question but I didn%26#039;t include some facts. It is a uniform tie dark blue made of 55% polyester and 45% wool. I know they have to be dry cleaned but that doesn%26#039;t always get those white sweat stains out. I thought about using scotchguard to repel the sweat. Any suggestions on that and a way to pre treat it before bringing it to the dry cleaner. Thanks.

I have underarm sweat! please help!?
I am an active person myself, around your age too, so I sweat a considerable amount. I don;t have BO, though, and my mum discourages me from using deodarant from fear of armpit-darkening. What I use is Aiken powder. It%26#039;s medicinal but odourless, and is gentle to skin. If you can%26#039;t find Aiken where you live, get a anti-bacterial baby powder, something like Dettol of Johnson%26#039;s and Johnson%26#039;s will do just fine.

Go to Walgreens. They have some stuff that is the strongest thing you can use without a prescription that works for 48 hours.

First try with every anti transpirant you get on the market, then try with Dehydral (it works for me, I don%26#039;t care so much about my undearm sweating but more much for my hands that are worst) . It%26#039;s a very strong cream, then try with botox.

NEVER TRY STS, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:try asking your doctor for a special percripstion, maybe your allergic to other deoderants, but aside from that maybe just use alot of soap in the shower

Hope this Helps!

%26lt; homemade remedies %26gt; online, you know natural stuff always works.
Reply:You need antipirspirant not just deoderant. Certain Dri works but it does itch if you don%26#039;t use it as directed - and it%26#039;s really tough on sensitive skin. Secret just came out with a new CLINICAL STREGTH anti-perspirant (see link below) - I haven%26#039;t tried it yet but I plan to. You can also get prescription anti-perspirant from a dermatologist. Dermatologist can also give botox injections to prevent sweating - I%26#039;ve heard that botox works but it is very expensive. There is also a surgical option for hypohydrosis that is supposed to work.

AND - you can get a free sample of Secret Clinical strength if you take a really quick quiz on the attached site!!!!

http://www.secret.com/ClinicalStrength.d...
Reply:Certain Dri works like an absolute charm I swear.... I use it every other day or so- and seriously not a drop of sweat- it itches a little at first yeah, but totally worth not being embarrassed anymore
Reply:You could try getting botox in your pits, most stars get it before major events so they don%26#039;t ruin their dresses.

If that%26#039;s not practical or finacially possible, you should speak with your doctor/dermatologist and have them rule out any illness and then see what they reccomend.
Reply:Well I would second what others have mentioned about talking to your doctor about the excessive sweating, and perhaps he or she can recommend something and/or rule out other possible causes. As for everyday personal care, if you don%26#039;t already, wash under your arms daily each morning with a deoderant soap. Then pat dry, and perhaps try a deoderant that also contains an antiperspirant (which you may already). I wouldn%26#039;t overdo applying the deoderant though but instead keep body cleansing wipes handy and use before applying the deoderant once again (if at school or out of the house, for example). But please do bring this to the attention of your physican.
Reply:Something organic. Certain chemicals can cause skin problems.

Reply:Sleep hyperhidrosis, more commonly known as the night sweats, is the occurrence of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) during sleep. The sufferer may or may not also suffer from excessive perspiration whilst awake.

Night sweats may occur for genetic reasons and may be relatively harmless. However, they can be distressing and disrupt sleep patterns if severe; the patient may be frequently awakened due to the discomfort of damp sleepwear.

One of the most common causes of night sweats in women over 40 is the hormonal changes related to menopause and perimenopause. This is a normal part of menopause and while annoying, it is not necessarily dangerous or a sign of underlying disease. Some women experience night sweats during pregnancy due to hormonal changes.

Sleep hyperhidrosis may occur at any age, but is most commonly seen in early adulthood.

The condition may be considered a sign of various disease states, including:

* Brucellosis

* Cancer

* Cerebral palsy

* Cerebral and brain stem strokes

* Chronic pneumonia

* Epilepsy

* Familial dysautonomia

* Head injury

* HIV

* Lymphoma, both Hodgkin%26#039;s and non-Hodgkin%26#039;s

* Hypothalamic lesions

* Leukaemia

* Menopause

* Pulmonary histoplasmosis

* Subacute endocarditis

* Tuberculosis

Certain medications, including anti-depressants (such as Zoloft) have also been known to cause night sweats in some individuals.

What type of sweat glands are located on the ventral portion of the forearm. (this is the area with no hair).?

I know that Eccrine Sweat glands are located on the palm, but which sweat glands are located on the ventral forearm? Same glands?

Are you on any medication? Allot of medication can cause this symptom such as Lexipro and other mood altering drugs.

It could also be more seriouse, but you would probably notice other symptoms. Best thing to do is go to the doctor and get bloode workup to rule out any hormone/glucose problems.

Check out the link which goes over possible causes.

I%26#039;m not trying to scare you, but it could be an indicator of something serious, such as lymphoma. Do you have any unexplained swollen lymph nodes? These are the general symptoms of lymphoma:

fever

drenching night sweats

weight loss

fatigue

appetite loss

red patches on the skin

severely itchy skin, often affecting the legs/feet

You know what%26#039;s normal for your body, and what%26#039;s not. It%26#039;s always best to have a doctor check you out. I would much rather go see a doctor and have them think I%26#039;m overreacting than not go see a doctor and be dead.

Night sweats?

I don%26#039;t know what is causing this. It%26#039;s not really a night sweat, as I don%26#039;t really get sweaty, just really really hot. I%26#039;m 26 and it has happened as long as I can remember...so it%26#039;s not related to menopause. When I wake up at night, suddenly I%26#039;ll get a wave of heat over me. I know it%26#039;s not just perceived because my husband complains about the heat I%26#039;m radiating too. Does anybody else have this happen? Why does it happen?
Night sweats?
Night sweats is a fairly common problem that many people experience from time to time.

Although uncomfortable, nighttime sweating typically isn%26#039;t a sign of a serious underlying medical condition. It may be triggered by something as simple as too warm a room or too many blankets on the bed. Potential medical causes of night sweats include:

Menopause

Anxiety

Medications such as certain high blood pressure drugs, over-the-counter fever reducers and antipsychotics

Drug or alcohol abuse

Gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD)

Diabetes

See your doctor if night sweats occur on a regular basis and interrupt your sleep. Treatment is directed at the underlying cause, if it can be determined. Occasionally, night sweats are a symptom of a serious condition, such as cancer or infection. But in such cases, night sweats are often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as fever and unexplained weight loss.

Night sweats?
you could still be low on part of your hormones, we have lots of them and if one is out of whack....also certain medications and even vitamins can cause this. Spicy food may also be a factor. Allergies of any kind can raise your core temperature. I have slept with a really good thread count sheet . It keeps you cooler having one vs. not because the sheets always tend to be cooler on your skin. also, taking a warm shower right before bed always makes me warm initially but then cools me off as the night goes on. good luck to you!
Reply:Estrogen actually causes it and it%26#039;s usually caused by a fluctuation of hormones in your sleep. (Sounds funny I know) If your on birth control and have been on the same one for some time it maybe your culprit. According to my Doctor.

I%26#039;m 34 and have the exact same problem. I have now changed my birth control. I never had this problem until I switched birth control. I was taking Yasmin and I went back on my old faithful Loestrin 1.5.
Reply:I%26#039;m 23 and this has happened to me ever since I was a teenager. It%26#039;s even so bad that it discolors my sheets and pillow case. My husband calls me a furnace. I find that it is worse during my period too.

I%26#039;ve recently changed my diet in an attempt to lose weight, and the night sweats have actually subsided. Mainly, I%26#039;ve cut out all %26quot;bad%26quot; foods (fast food, regular soda etc..) the biggest difference, however, is that I%26#039;m eating whole wheat everything and fat free everything. I%26#039;m not sure if their connected at all, but I sleep better because I%26#039;m not having to get up in the middle of the night and change my clothes.

Let me know if you find anything that works for you because I might hijack the idea.
Reply:I started having the same problem when I hit puberty. It took me until I was 19 to figure out it was my diet. The doctors say that I am also going through early menopause as all the women in my family did before they were 30 and had to have hysterectomys. I am 28 and the hot flashes are no where near like they used to be with the healthy diet change but they are still there. I cut out the processed sugars, high salt foods, and fried foods. That did it for me.
