Reply:It is a symptom of cancer. Any other symptoms of cancer?? Could be a symptom of sleep apnea. See a doctor if he is concerned. It may just very well be that he is a heavy sleeper and doesn't rouse as a result of body temperature changes.

I sleep with a fan on me everynight, winter or summer, forced air also allows better breathing.
Hi stress, worries also creates this, relaxing helps, lifestyle changes may be needed.
If he is very skinny and has a high metabilism he may also have these, especially if he eats a lot of sweets and soda.
